Aerial work platform and construction machinery rental in Banska Bystrica
In Banska Bystrica, aerial work platforms and construction machinery are strikingly often needed where operations do not stop. As the administrative centre of central Slovakia, the city brings together authorities, schools, hospitals, university and cultural buildings — and these buildings are renovated while the public, patients and staff remain inside. This shifts the selection criteria: what counts is not maximum height but drive type, noise level and whether the machine can get into the building at all.
Renovating while the building stays in use
A public office does not close for a ceiling repaint, and a hospital does not relocate a ward for new lighting. Work in public buildings therefore takes place outside core hours, at weekends or during the school holidays — in short, firmly agreed windows.
Drive without local emissions is not a matter of comfort but a prerequisite: in corridors, auditoriums and treatment wings, only electric scissor lifts come into question, with non-marking tyres on finished floor coverings.
Where doors, lifts and narrow corridors determine access, mast lifts are the only class that reliably fits through standard doors and can be moved by one person. In cultural buildings with galleries and lighting trusses they are complemented by electric articulating boom lifts, because these work over seating and fixtures.
Building envelope, roof and forecourt
Outside, what counts is reach over porches, ramps and green areas — for this, articulating boom lifts are available, the four-wheel-drive diesel models also on unpaved ground. If the basket has to reach an inner courtyard or a planted area without damaging the surface, spider lifts with low ground pressure are the gentlest solution; for tall, free-standing structures telescopic boom lifts reach up to 56.90 m.
The rental fleet in figures
| Class | Working height | Basket load |
|---|---|---|
| Scissor lifts electric | 6.30 – 33.00 m | 227 – 1,000 kg |
| Scissor lifts diesel | 9.70 – 34.00 m | 363 – 1,134 kg |
| High-rack scissor lifts | 18.50 – 33.00 m | 450 – 1,000 kg |
| Articulating boom lifts | 10.89 – 48.15 m | 150 – 450 kg |
| Telescopic boom lifts | 14.00 – 56.90 m | 227 – 454 kg |
| Mast lifts | 10.00 – 12.65 m | 200 kg |
| Spider lifts | 13.00 – 39.50 m | 200 – 400 kg |
Wood processing in the region: sawmill, drying, extraction
The second defining field of work lies outside the city: sawmills, drying plants and wood-processing companies whose equipment requires regular work at height — extraction systems and pipework under the hall ceiling, silos and cyclones outdoors, boiler and energy plants.
Two things are different from administrative buildings. First, dust — filters, cooling and maintenance intervals suffer from it, which is why we select machines specifically for it. Second, basket load: when fitters with tools, spare parts and measuring equipment have to go up, diesel scissor lifts with up to 1,134 kg are the class with the highest load capacity. In sawn timber and finished goods warehouses, narrow-track high-rack scissor lifts work in the aisles.
Where possible, schedule work on extraction and boiler systems in the planned plant shutdown; we align delivery and collection with this window.
Telehandlers, excavators and forklifts for central Slovakia
Telehandlers handle material transport where a crane would be disproportionate: fixed models lift 4.30 to 18.80 m at 1.25 to 25 t, roto telehandlers reach 15.42 to 38.90 m and work all the way round from one set-up position. Indoors, the electric version remains the only option in this class without local emissions.
For earthworks, outdoor landscaping and interior demolition, excavators from 1.8 to 30 t operating weight are available; the small machines fit through hall doors. We also supply forklifts from 3 to 16 t, as rough-terrain forklifts for unpaved yards, as well as high-lift pallet stackers up to 5.50 m lift height. The complete earthmoving and civil engineering range can be found under Construction machinery.
Inspection certificate, qualification and operator duties
Especially for public-sector contracts, documentation is checked too, often already in the tender. Under Decree No. 508/2009 Coll. of the Slovak Ministry of Labour, a motor-driven mobile elevating work platform with a lift height of more than 1.5 m is group A lifting technical equipment and therefore counts as designated technical equipment. Such equipment requires official tests on commissioning and repeated official tests at recurring intervals, plus formal requirements for operator qualification. In addition there are Government Regulation No. 392/2006 Coll., the occupational safety act No. 124/2006 Coll. and the testing standard STN EN 280.
We provide an inspection certificate, CE documentation and operating manual with every machine and keep inspection dates and maintenance history for the entire rental fleet. Risk assessment, operator qualification and instruction at the place of use remain with the renter. Anyone working in a public building in use also includes barriers, escape and rescue routes and coordination with building management in the assessment. The operator's duties also include subjecting every machine to a visual and function check before work starts.
Transport to Banska Bystrica
We deliver to Banska Bystrica by low-loader to your site. For holiday and weekend jobs, we plan delivery so that the machine is in place before the window starts. For requirements of several months, long-term rental rates apply, and we price platform and telehandler as a package.
Working height, outreach and ground conditions determine the right machine. A comparison of all designs with costs and inspection requirements can be found under Lift rental: platform types, costs and applications.
